These gentle, heart-led workshops are specially designed for nursing home residents, offering a rich, multi-sensory experience that combines live music, storytelling, and creative expression. Each session features the soothing sounds of guitar and sound bath instruments, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere where participants feel supported and engaged.
Storytelling is at the heart of every workshop. Sometimes we explore well-known themes—like the story of St Brigid—through original live music inspired by the soundscapes around St Brigid’s Cathedral in Kildare. At other times, the sessions grow from the participants’ own memories and reflections. These workshops are improvised in the moment, allowing new music and sound to emerge naturally from the stories shared by the group.
Movement and voice exploration are gently woven into the sessions, with all activities adapted to be inclusive of wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. There’s space for light, expressive movement, spontaneous vocal play, and simple breathing techniques that bring a sense of calm and joy.
Each session ends with a short, accessible meditation to help ground and relax participants. Afterwards, everyone is invited to explore the instruments, touch them, play with sounds, and enjoy a moment of discovery. These workshops create a space for connection, creativity, and presence—honouring each person’s voice through music, movement, and story.
