Ta Tum Tum! is a music show designed for families to explore samba music through popular and original music in a creative, integrative and fun way! It also explores body awareness and different rhythms used in Brazilian music. The performance is interactive and allows children and adults to play real instruments from Brazil used in Samba. It explores a subject of diversity, equality and cultural differences.  Ta Tum Tum has been funded by Kildare County Council and Creative Ireland, and Riverbank Arts Centre.

Ta Tum Tum! is an onomatopeia inspired by the sounds of drums and percussion. Brazilian rhythms have its roots in Africa and are one of the most recognisable rhythms in the world. Samba is enacted most spectacularly in the Brazilian Carnaval celebrations, which have captured the global imagination in its pulsating rhythms, its decadent revelry, its extroverted performativity and its extravagant exhibitionism.

And that what Ta Tum Tum! is about! Sharing the most colourful and happy celebration in the world with children!

With a support from Kildare County Council and Creative Ireland, Ta Tum Tum! was able to buy forty brazilian, percussive instruments which are used during the interactive show. The instruments include: caxixi, agogo, pandeiro, surdo, shekere and more. And it all comes from a magical treasure trunk!

Ta Tum Tum!’s repertoire contains popular songs chosen by children as well as original compositions; everything played in cheerful, energetic samba style. There is also an opportunity to not only listen to songs in Portuguese but to sing along! Ta Tum Tum’s vision is to be as interactive with children as possible, and make them feel as they are part of the samba band!

Ta Tum Tum! makes children play, move, sing and have lots of fun!

See you under the palms! Ciao! Bjs!
